Opening of The Opal

Home First Development and Christ United Methodist Church started working together more than 5 years ago with a shared goal of creating an inclusive, safe, and affordable community.

Now there are 54 units and a comprehensive services space opening to Cedar Mill and the LGBTQ/Ally community, in partnership with Friendly House/Elder Pride.

The Opal will provide a safe, welcoming, positive, and colorful environment for its residents for years to come!

You are invited to tour the new facility on Thursday, April 11, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Please contact Pastor Brett if you would like to attend.

He is Risen!

Our Easter worship service, this Sunday at 10:00 am, will overwhelm you!

Sing some of your favorite songs, hear the resurrection story from the gospel of Mark, and have your hearts uplifted!

The children will have an opportunity to hunt eggs during the service.

Don’t miss it!

Donations & Volunteers Needed for WFWA Easter Party

Please join the Western Farm Workers Association for their celebration of Easter on Saturday, March 30.

They will serve a lunch and each child will receive an Easter basket. There will be games, crafts, egg dying, and, of course, the Egg Hunt.

They need donations of food, eggs, Easter baskets, plastic eggs, candy, small toys, and party supplies (no plastic or shredded paper ‘grass,’ please.)  Please leave any Easter party items in the basket by the front door at church this Sunday.

Can you bring a simple craft and help the children with it? Join Merry G as a volunteer to celebrate the joy of the holiday. You will have so much fun!  Call the WFWA office at 503-681-9399 or Merry G at 503-840-7410 to sign up or if you have any questions.

New Look

Online giving will be through Breeze, our church management system, beginning today.

It looks a little different, and you will have to enter your information again, but in the long run it will simplify things for our financial team.

You will be able to set up one-time or recurring donations, from your bank account, credit or debit card, to a particular fund (general fund, Change for Change, etc.) You may also donate to cover the processing fees.

PayPal will continue to be available for the time being, for those of you with recurring payments set up.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the church office (office@westsidejourney.org) or Pastor Brett.
