Question: When has mercy been hard to take?
Answers:
Sometimes I think by holding on to guilt and rejecting mercy, I will motivate myself.
When my superego says the right thing to do is to punish myself for whatever I think I may have done to offend/sin against God or neighbor.
It’s harder for me to give mercy than to accept it.
When I feel undeserving, unworthy.
When I know how badly I messed up.
