Stand Up for HomePlate

After 4 years, Stand Up for HomePlate is BACK! Enjoy a night of improv comedy benefitting Homeplate Youth Services at the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro on Friday, Apr 12.

Tickets include heavy appetizers, a drink ticket, and a night of laughs.

HomePlate supports youth across Washington County experiencing housing instability. Washington County has the leading rate of youth homelessness in the state of Oregon, so the need for their services is essential.

Stand Up will raise money to meet the growing financial needs of programs and introduce people to the work and services that HomePlate provides youth in the community.

Help Needed!

Sandy is looking for a few folks to help on Thursday, Feb 22, at 9:00 am.

We are welcoming our new renters, Father’s House, by doing a one-time setup of chairs and tables in the Lighthouse for their use.

If you have a spare hour (or less, with enough people!), please drop by and help. Thank you!

Red Cross Blood Drive

Westside is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, Feb 13, from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm in the Lighthouse.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The need for blood is constant, but only 3 percent of the U.S. population donates. It takes less than an hour, but can help save the lives of up to three patients! And if you donate in February, you will receive a $20 Amazon gift card by email.

Be a hero and sign up today at https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=WestsideUMC

Ash Wednesday Service

Lent, a season of seeking God in preparation for Easter, begins on Wednesday, Feb 14.

Some people mark these six weeks by giving up something; others by being more intentional in a spiritual practice. You may choose whatever you feel will draw you nearer to God.

Be sure to join us for our Ash Wednesday service at 1:00 pm on Feb 14.
