Family Promise Fundraiser

Family Promise of Greater Washington County invites Westsiders to join their second annual Night Without a Bed event, an impactful overnight experience to raise awareness about family homelessness and raise much-needed funds for those facing housing instability.

This event is part of their mission to break the cycle of homelessness and empower families toward stability, as they expand their services, including opening the new Hillsboro House Shelter. Participants are encouraged to sleep without a bed—in a sleeping bag, car, couch, or tent—to better understand the hardships faced by families without stable housing.

Event and Registration Details:
Date: Saturday, October 26th – Sunday, October 27th
Time: 5:30 PM to 7:30 AM
Location: Southminster Presbyterian Church, 12250 SW Denney Road, Beaverton
Suggested Donation: $10 per person (or a package of toilet paper). Children under 5 are free.
Meals: Dinner and a to-go breakfast will be provided.

Staying overnight is not required, but we ask that you stand in solidarity by choosing an alternative sleeping arrangement.

Please Read! New Text Regulations

Beginning Wednesday, Oct 23, you must opt-in to receive text messages through Breeze, our church management system.

Examples of text messages we might send through Breeze:

  • Volunteer reminders, such as to greeters and childcare volunteers

  • Whole church messages, such as “worship is canceled due to the weather”

To facilitate this opt-in process, we will text you through Breeze (it will show up as phone number 87447) on Monday, October 21, at noon. No action is necessary on Monday.

This text from us will trigger an auto-text from Breeze, probably on Wednesday, allowing you to opt-in by replying YES.

By selecting YES, you consent to receive SMS messages from Breeze regarding information and announcements for Westside. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. You can opt out by responding STOP at any time.

If you don’t reply YES or STOP to the second text, we will send you a reminder in another week to give you another opportunity to opt in. After Oct 23, you can opt-in at any time by texting YES to 87447.

If you don’t receive either text, we may not have your mobile phone number (or it’s incorrectly labeled as a landline.) Please contact the church office at office@westsidejourney.org - we are happy to help!
